Cross the wide expanse of the Axe Valley – Enjoy panoramic views from Musbury hillfort. Rise and fall in steep combes stroll on rural lanes and follow the River Lim between Lyme Regis and Uplyme.

East-West: Stage 2: Colyton to Church Green, Farway (6 miles)

Leave the market town of Colyton, following the River Coly and through Northleigh village oassg through the remote and tranquil Farway Valley.

Public transport: Start/End: Colyton bus services include 885 and 20, which both connect to X53 and 52A in Colyford/Seaton. 885 also passes through Musbury. 52B connects to Putts Corner/Hare and Hounds Pub and Sidbury.

End/Start: 31 connects Uplyme and Lyme Regis with Axminster, whilst X53 connects Lyme Regis to other East Devon coastal towns.

By car: Start/End: Pay and display in Colyton Town centre, Dolphin Street (EX24 6NA). End/Start: Selection of pay and display car parks in Lyme Regis, suggested is Woodmead Hall car park, Hill Road, Lyme Regis, Dorset (DT7 3PG). End/Start: Parking is possible but not recommended for large groups in Church Green/Farway. There is limited free parking at eith Knapp Copse Local Nature Reservce (EX10 0QG) or at the Forestry Commission site at Money Acre Cross.
