It’s hard to believe that this incredible nature reserve was once a landfill site! Today, it’s home to a diverse range of habitats and wildlife.
Ancient woodland provide shelter for owls and dormice, while species-rich grassland and wild flower meadows buzz with insects and butterflies throughout the summer. A springline mire and a network of hedgerows provide even more valuable homes for wildlife.
There are several attractive walking routes through and around the reserve, including the East Devon Way. The reserve is set across a steep valley and sturdy footwear is recommended.
